Table 1: Steps in designing ORT as an alternative assessment tool

Steps Descriptions
Step 1 Discuss the principles and features of ORT with students.Students are divided into groups of 4 members and they are encouraged to initiate interactions and active collaborations.Students are exposed to samples of ORT and are provided with evaluation rubric for the task.
Step 2 Each group is required to choose a dramatic scene from the play to be performed.The evaluation rubric provided will guide them on the expectations and requirements of the task.
Step 3 They are to shoot and record their ORT. Proper editing using any online video editing tools. All videos of their ORT are to be uploaded on Microsoft Teams.
Step 4 Each ORT is played in class.Each group is to prepare their comments on other groups’ ORT based on the evaluation rubric provided.
Step 5 Each ORT is assessed based on the evaluation rubric and overall quality of the multimedia presentation. Peer feedback is also considered during the evaluation.
